Spoken from the perspective of somebody who does not have to do any PR-work: I've seen users do _far_ worse things in the Artist News. It's far better than "I'm bored at school"-spam and I'm sure NG users will not mind, as long as you stick to featuring works that you are genuinely proud of.
The title wasn't misleading either. Everyone who looked at it knew what to expect before clicking - unless they are new to NG and have not discovered the Audio Portal. ;)
Plus: Unlike 'visual' artists you cannot show of your drawing board, a sketch, a bit of a WIP animation, or your stickers...
